Atos Medical is specifically interested in supporting Investigator Initiated Studies within the following therapeutic areas and topics.

General areas of interest within laryngectomy care, tracheostomy care, and jaw rehabilitation:

  • Impact of product/product type/product regimen on patient satisfaction, quality of life, treatment costs, compliance, adherence to treatment or cost-effectiveness
  • Impact of product/product type/ product regimen on clinical benefits or complications (potentially compared to equivalent product/treatment)
  • Impact of patient care or educational programs involving product/product types/product regimes on patient behavior, satisfaction, or quality of life

Specific topics of interest (non-exhaustive):

Laryngectomy care:

  • Pulmonary rehabilitation with Provox Life HMEs
  • Early HME adaptation during post-operative period
  • Post-operative use of Adhesives and/or early weaning protocols of LaryTubes
  • FreeHands speech
  • Voice rehabilitation with Provox Voice prosthesis
  • Scheduled Voice prosthesis replacement

Tracheostomy Care:

  • Pulmonary rehabilitation with HMEs in different patient populations, e.g. ICU, Neuro, ENT, community and compared to alternative methods of communication, e.g. external humidifiers
  • Tracheostomy tube weaning
  • PDT
  • ACV
  • Product and care routines that improve clinical outcomes or patient quality of life
  • Service model implementation to improve clinical outcomes or patient quality of life and reduce burden on hospital systems
