Expert panel:  

Carmin Bartow

Speech Pathologist and Clinical Educator at Atos Medical USA

Carmin began her career as a speech-language pathologist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, where she specialized in dysphagia management, head and neck cancer, and tracheostomy practice for over two decades. Her contributions were pivotal in the development and success of a multidisciplinary tracheostomy team. From 2012-2022, she maintained Board Certification in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. Carmin is an experienced educator at the local, regional, and national levels, including several years as an adjunct instructor for the Dysphagia course at Tennessee State University and as an invited guest lecturer for many SLP and RT programs throughout the US. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer reviewed papers and presentations on dysphagia, tracheostomy practice, and multidisciplinary tracheostomy teams. Her career included a balance between her clinical role and part-time work as a Clinical Consultant for Passy-Muir leading to a full-time Clinical Specialist position there in 2020.

Ellena Farrow

Clinical educator at Atos Medical UK and physiotherapist

Ellena is a Respiratory Physiotherapist by background having started her Physiotherapy career in Cambridge and then moved to Lancashire at the end of 2018. She began working at Atos in January 2024 and her current role allows her to combine her passion for tracheostomy management as well as Clinical Education to support clinicians in delivering high quality, evidence-based care.

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Critical Care and Respiratory, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust 

Katie Partridge is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Integrated Therapy Lead for Critical Care and Respiratory
at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, with her main base being Basildon University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Katie is also a non-medical prescriber and is currently undertaking her Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice.
